Dana (the Pali word for generosity) is an essential part of the 2,600 year-old Buddhist tradition. Our teachers freely offer the teachings, and are supported in turn by donations from participants who value what the teachings have brought to their lives.
In this same spirit our parent organization, Salt Spring Vipassana Society, is committed to offering financial assistance to those who are genuinely unable to afford the price of a meditation retreat.
They would very much like you to be able to attend this retreat. However, their funds are limited. Each request is carefully assessed in terms of financial need, prior support received, and funds available. It is not always possible to provide funds for every request. If you are able to pay a portion of the retreat costs, please do so. This allows them to offer support or special rates to other people in need.
Please apply for financial support directly to Salt Spring Vipassana Society, by going to the website: www.ssivipassana.ca.
Under the menu item ‘Retreats’ scroll down to ‘Financial Assistance’ and follow the directions you will find there.
